Book Club

Run Your Own Book Club!

If you love books as much as we do or really want to help improve literacy levels and encourage a love of reading in children; why not run a book club within your school or with your friends and family?

Book clubs are a fabulous way for children to interact and learn about the world, with their peers and family members. They will explore topics and scenarios that will help to develop and build confidence in their reading ability but also make new friends and have fun!

With our checklist and planning sheet; setting up your own book club will be a breeze. We will send you ideas and questions, that you can use if you wish, to make each meeting fun, beneficial and memorable.

Also you’ll be entitled to take advantage of our special offer with voucher code “Bookclub” to receive 10% off your order, when you buy 5 or more of the same book to use in your book club.

What You’ll Need…

Decide who your book club is aimed at.  Will it be school children during their lunch break, in the library at school or will it be at your house with your friends and their children?

What age range is the book club aimed at? Can the children attend alone or will they bring their parents or guardians? How many children would you like to attend?

How often will the club run and for how long? We would recommend weekly for around 30 minutes, perhaps a bit shorter if the children are younger.

Involve the children with the book club planning and organisation – they love responsibility!

Use our book club checklists and planning guides to get the most out of each session. We have read and reviewed all of our books; taking into consideration topics, questions and activities that you can use.

Make it fun-it is not a school lesson; it is for you and the children to enjoy.

Very importantly provide a drink and snack. We don’t want any hungry or thirsty readers!

Join Our Club…

Please don’t forget to send us some pictures of the group, what you do and the activities and conversations you have had. We’d really love to see them and share them in our group (given your permission), so you can support and gain ideas from one another! We also encourage you and the children to review the books on our website www.everydaypeoplebooks.co.uk and Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/everydaypeoplebooks

Don’t forget to take advantage of our special offer with voucher code “Bookclub”, to receive 10% off your order, when you buy 5 or more of the same book to use in your book club.

Please spread the word so more and more children can see the benefits of escaping into a book and exploring the magical world of fiction.
