Rainbow Monsters Shortlisted for An Award!

We are really excited to announce that one of our Everyday People Books, by author Sylva Fae, Rainbow Monsters has been shortlisted in the Chanticleer, Little Peeps Book Awards. The overall winners will be announced on the 21st of April at the conference in Bellingham, WA, USA.

If you haven’t read Rainbow Monsters already; you really should! It’s a fantastic little children’s book, with beautiful bright illustrations, great characters and is suitable for early readers age 3+. It also helps you teach your child the colours of the rainbow.

You may remember that we learnt more about Sylva in a previous blog post and how her stories are often inspired by her children. Her middle daughter has a peculiar habit – a nightly bedtime monologue. Sylva explains: “In those last few moments when she’s supposed to be settling down, she feels she has to get a full day’s worth of chatter out of her head so she can sleep. It starts with recounting her day and gets more and more fantastical the sleepier she gets. She often falls asleep mid-sentence but somewhere in her magical chatter, she’ll give me an instruction to write a story including certain things – a happy story with rainbows and monsters, or a wishing story with naughty unicorns… I listen and note the features that are important to a child”. We would like to wish Sylva and her fantastic story Rainbow Monsters the best of luck! We’ve got everything crossed for her...
