Counting Frogs

What is your book about?
My book is about a bunch of frogs, who happen to be on a journey to surprise a friend.

Where did you get the idea for this book?
I was sitting on my porch and noticed a bunch of frogs that looked like they wanted to come in. The rhyme popped into my head and I had to write it down.

How long did it take you to write your book?
It took five years to create this book.

Where dose my inspiration come from?
Most of my stories come from everyday life or events.

What inspired you to write?
My inspiration came from Dr Suess and Walt Disney.

Do you have a favorite author?
That is a hard one, because I love so many books. Currently, my favorite author is Karma Wilson, who wrote The Bear Snores On.

What is most challenging about writing?
The most challenging part of writing is having your work rejected.

Why do you love reading?
I love reading, because it allows me to escape my life and step into another world.

How many books have you written?
Counting Frogs is my first book, but I have other stories that I have been working on.

What other projects are you working on?
I am currently writing a story called “Can You Eat Spaghetti With Your Hands?”

What is your favorite part or being an author?
I love working at home and that my job requires me to read for research… how great is that.

What advice would you give children, who would like to be an author someday?
My first advice would be to read, read, read. My second advice would be to learn all you can about writing.

What advice would you give children, who want to illustrate children’s books?
My advice would be to learn all you can about drawing and to eventually find a great art school.

What do you do to relax?
I like to spend time with my family.
